Current Profession and Title/Years in role: Vice President, Applied Behavioral Insights Team at Citigroup, since 2017
Can you provide a brief overview of your job responsibilities?
I work on a global team that leads consulting-style, culture-change projects rooted in behavioral science. We look at what new behaviors we can have teams incorporate into their day-to-day to make these teams most effective and efficient.
Do you have any career advice for members of our Camp community?
Take a chance! I moved to London with my company three years ago and am so glad I did. Whether you move to a new location, go for a new job, or take on a new type of project it’s an incredible learning opportunity and a chance for you to get out of your comfort zone and try something different.
What have been some of your greatest personal and professional accomplishments? Is there a goal toward which you are currently working?
One of my proudest professional accomplishments was in one of my earlier roles at Citi when I worked on the Global Diversity team. We were able to build the early strategy for communicating internally, within Citi, and externally on what work we are doing in the diversity, equity, and inclusion space. I was proud to share what we’re doing but also enjoyed the chance to expand my knowledge in the space, influencing the jobs I then moved into.
How do the values or skills you learned at Camp show up in your everyday work and/or personal life?
The biggest skill I’ve taken with me is how to be a team player, how to be a leader and how to balance between the two. At Camp, we would rotate through those roles effortlessly throughout the day and that’s something I’ve learned to bring to my work life. Whether leading a project or being a team member, knowing what role I have and how to then work with others has been hugely helpful.
Is there a person or a situation that had a huge influence on you while you were at Camp?
I’m really lucky that I was able to work at Camp with my brother, Ben. Working with him as a counselor and then on Ad Staff helped us grow closer and build so many fun, new memories together.
What advice would you give your younger self?
You don’t have to have it all figured out! It’s cliché but enjoy the journey because there’s a lot you’ll learn from that versus just getting right to the destination.
Favorite Camp meal: Freshly baked chocolate chip cookies at lunch
Favorite dining hall or flagpole song: I remember doing one in the dining hall with cups, pitch perfect-esque, but can’t recall the name!
Favorite evening program at Camp: Color Wars
What profession other than your own would you like to try? Travel critic – I’d get to fly all over the world trying the best of the best for my work!
What would you eat if you could only have one food for the rest of your life? Pizza
