Katherine Reynolds

Associate Director/Personnel Director

How long have you worked at camp? Were you a camper and/or counselor before?
I have been at Camp Kanata for a year, but I have had some sort of summer camp experience as a camper or counselor since I was six years old, all over the world.

Favorite camp memory?
My favorite camp memory is the incredible anticipation Iwould feel the night before camp starts. I could never sleep from excitement.

Where were you born?
In the Appalachian Mountains in a small town called Richlands, Virginia.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
I have always wanted to do something working with youth but the specific job has changed from teaching to a youth social worker to school travel abroad coordinator. Fortunately in my career I have almost always had a job that had to do with camp.

What’s the most important thing you’ve learned in life?
You can choose your attitude in any situation, and a positive attitude will not only affect yourself but also those around you in wonderful ways.

What’s your favorite something(s) and why?
My ultimate favorite and best friend is my almost one year old puppy, Penny. She makes me laugh and smile on a daily basis and gives the best snuggles.
