Pirate Week: June 16-22

Opening day:

Vista! We had an awesome Opening Day to start off the Summer of 2019. The sun was shining and spirits throughout Camp were high as we greeted our campers at their cabins with smiling faces. For dinner, we had spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread. Our new Executive Director, Ryan, led Opening Campfire and cheer-off with lots of energy. Kanata staff and campers alike were excited to be reunited with old and new friends. Pirate Week 2019 is off to a great start, we can’t wait to make more memories during a fun-filled week here at Camp Kanata!

We had another great day here at Camp! The campers had lots of energy going into their activities after a breakfast of french toast sticks and sausage. It was sunny throughout the day and everyone was excited for the first full day of the summer. For lunch, we had chicken nuggets and potato wedges. Campers were especially excited to try out the attractions at the lake during General Swim time. After a mac and cheese bar dinner, the entire camp split up into teams for a Pirate Week themed game of Capture the Flag. We are looking forward to another fun-filled day tomorrow!

It was a fantastic day here at Camp Kanata. Breakfast was chicken biscuits and lunch was yummy personal pizzas with fruit. Tuesdays are Unit Nights here at Camp and everyone was very excited to spend more time with the new friends they’ve made in their Unit so far this week. We had a little liquid sunshine headed our way after a dinner of hot dogs, but that didn’t stop anyone from having a blast. Our counselors and campers adapted quickly to the weather and made the most out of indoor time with fun Lip-Syncs and other Cabintime Activities. We are looking forward to another awesome day tomorrow.

Everyone woke up excited for another day at Camp. For breakfast we had scones, scrambled eggs and bacon. Campers across many different activities were having fun, and some are even completing challenges to get closer to achieving ranks! Lunch was build-your-own burger and dinner was a treat of chicken and waffles. Our evening program “Shannon’s Search for a Perfect Mate”, a Pirate Week themed pageant, was a blast. Campers especially loved helping their counselors come up with a unique pirate personality and costume for the program. We can’t believe the week is already half-way over, but we are excited for what is to come.

It was another spectacular day at Kanata! We started our morning with egg, bacon, and cheese biscuits, and then headed to our activities. Lunch was chicken sandwiches and waffle fries. We made the most out of the liquid sunshine that came our way in the afternoon with some fun Cabin Time activities. Dinner was lasagna and garlic bread. Everyone was especially excited for the Evening Program, a camp-wide Dance. We had a great time dancing the night away with our new friends and we are so excited to spend one last full day together tomorrow.

We had a wonderful last full day together today! We had bagels for breakfast and corn dogs with mac and cheese triangles for lunch. The weather made for a beautiful lake day for our campers and counselors. Dinner was a delicious taco bar dinner. After dinner, we had Closing Campfire for our Evening Program. Our Closing Campfire is always a memorable part of the week for all. Campers are able to perform fun skits in front of the entire Camp and say “goodnight” to the new friends they’ve made. We enjoyed spending time together this week as a Kanata family and we will not forget the fun and friends we made.
