At Camp, we look for active, friendly and highly engaging nurses to work with our campers and young staff. We have about 270 campers and 90 staff members in residence at Camp Kanata for one-week periods. During a normal week, we will have two nurses working together to provide medical administration and general triage.
Nurse Expectations
Time Commitment
Camp Kanata nurses commit to one-week periods during the summer from Sunday to Sunday. This week includes two check-ins and one check-out for campers.
Eligibility
Ideal candidates are great RNs, Nurse Practitioners or Physical Assistants who are flexible and adventurous.
Your Role
Typical duties of a Camp Kanata nurse include oversight of the preparation and distribution of all camper medications, first aid and triage of camper and counselor medical concerns, emergency response on the campgrounds and the management, stocking, cleaning, sanitizing, organization and overall supervision of the Health Center.
Benefits
Nurses receive a paid salary with private housing and all meals provided. Also, any direct dependents of the nurse receive discounted (taxable) tuition for the week of overnight camp in which the nurse is employed.
