YMCA Camp Kanata offers financial assistance for campers. Financial assistance is need-based and calculated based on a sliding scale. YMCA Camp Kanata considers total household income including income child support, social security benefits, food stamps, etc. and the total number of legal dependents.
We are as committed to financial assistance as ever, yet available funding will be more limited for 2021 programs, due to the financial strain in 2020. Priority will be given to registered 2020 financial assistance campers, and our hope is to award funding to them at a similar level. Those Campers who were awarded financial assistance for 2020 programs do not have to fill out financial assistance paperwork again this year, unless they feel that their situation has changed dramatically. When you register for 2021, answer the question expressing interest in financial assistance, and we will be back in touch with more details.
If funds remain after awarding to 2020 financial assistance campers, we will work through financial assistance requests for returning campers who have not received it in prior years. Unfortunately, we do not anticipate having financial assistance funding remaining for brand new 2021 campers.
Applicants for Overnight and Day Camp must register for Camp before their financial assistance application can be processed. Registration will require a $100 deposit per session for Overnight Camp and a $10 deposit per session for Day Camp.
Applicants for Weekend Camp must submit financial assistance paperwork, addendum and supporting documents in advance of registering for the program to avoid payment in full at the time of registration.
