Cabins at Camp Kanata house at least two counselors and 10 – 14 campers. Each cabin is well lit with excellent ventilation, and feature fully furnished interiors with twin bunk beds.
Some of our cabins have restroom facilities attached, and some cabins use traditional bath houses located conveniently nearby.
Bath houses are fully equipped with individual shower stalls, and bathrooms. Campers can shower in complete privacy. Bath houses and cabin bathrooms are professionally cleaned every day.
Cabin life is a key piece of your campers overnight camp experience. We try to honor at least one cabin mate request per child and intentionally group campers together around age, grade, previous years at camp and other factors. Counselors lead activities designed to establish and encourage cabin camaraderie and community.
The Camp Kanata amphitheater is a special place for morning chapel, camp fires and evening programs. Built in 2012 through donations by the Y Guides program, the amphitheater can seat our entire camp.
Camp Kanata is set on a three-acre lake where kids enjoy the blob, canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, a Tarzan swing, and a double water slide.
Campers can also splash around and swim in the general swim area.
Campers are supervised at all times in the lake by Camp Kanata lifeguards.
The Camp Kanata Dining Hall can seat 300 campers at a time. The kitchen facilities provide professional preparation and service. Cleanliness is a priority at Camp Kanata, and we are proud of our A sanitation grade.
We ensure that your camper will enjoy healthy, well-balanced meals each day.
Camp Kanata has a fully equipped horse barn that houses 12 horses each summer. Campers can groom and tack up each horse safely in the large space. From there, they can head either to our riding ring or out to more than 100 acres of private trail.
Camp Kanata has two large fields for soccer, dodgeball, kickball and lacrosse. We also have a large, covered gymnasium where campers can enjoy tennis, volleyball, basketball and badminton.
