At Camp Kanata, everyone is a winner. With so many adventures and activities, there is always something new to try.
Our counselors and fellow campers are encouraging, nurturing and supportive. They create a safe, positive environment for campers to try new things.
One camper shared that she loves all Kanata activities because it brings her closer to her counselors and other campers.
"I have made so many new friends at camp who support me," she said. "If you try an activity like the Alpine Tower or archery for the first time, you always have friends cheering you on. Here, you don't have to be the best. You just have to try!"
During the morning Day Camp assembly, Rory O'Brien, Program Director at Kanata, encourages kids to embrace new adventures.
"You have a chance to try a new activity today," he told the campers, "So, go out there and do your best!"
At the end of an exciting week, campers leave with more self-confidence and are more prepared to take on challenges in their day-to-day lives. And that is a souvenir that they can hold on to forever.
