2021 Progress Report
Vista!
As the year comes to an end we want to take the opportunity to celebrate the achievements made and recognize the impact had on thousands of children. The positive influence of Camp would not be possible without our greater Camp community who supports ongoing excellence and success through philanthropy. The below report exhibits the significance of your generosity and investment, and we are so grateful. Thank you for partnering with us to build the next generation of leaders as work together to Be Well and Do Good.
Ryan Eves
Executive Director
"My son tried new things, made new friends that he’s still connecting with after camp, and he’s excited to come back to camp. He’s even talking about being a counselor when he gets older. We’re so grateful to the Camp Kanata staff for providing such a fun and memorable experience."
"My child has a family at Kanata. My child feels accepted and loved in a way she doesn’t normally feel."
"Camp Kanata has been a part of our family’s life for the past 9 years. I can’t begin to explain the impact that Kanata has had and will continue to have on them. It is something we look forward to every year, and when your kids say to you that they can’t wait to send their own kids to Kanata one day, there is no better compliment. We LOVE Camp Kanata!"
"Both of my kids come back from camp more confident and happy. They talk about their experiences from camp all year long and look forward to camping again the next summer. Each year they ask to add 'just one more week' to their summer. Both are excited to reach the age where they can be a CILT, CIT and Counselor themselves."
"My children have grown in confidence, independence, self-esteem, ability to try new things...with positive reinforcement in a safe, healthy, kind, respectful, FUN environment - as a working Mom it is EVERYTHING to me to have the kids at a camp that they truly enjoy, being outside, having fun, making friends and being safe. Thank you all for the AMAZING work that you do to prepare and execute a phenomenal program for these lucky kiddos!"
2021 Camperships
Support from generous friends of Camp Kanata including parents, alumni and community members allows us to ensure that Kanata is diverse and that no child misses out on an amazing summer experience due to financial limitations. While our primary focus was to allocate 2020 Camp Annual Campaign funds to address the greatest needs through the pandemic, we were able to offer the following financial assistance.
Setting the Table
Sharing meals around a table is the formation of inclusion, community and family. We officially broke ground and are excited to be welcoming campers and opening our doors wider during summer 2022!
The new facility will accommodate our growing camp family, include a larger state-of-the-art kitchen and offer expanded areas for campers to gather, as well as multipurpose space for off-season programming.
It's not too late to make your gift in support of this effort. You can play an important role with a gift of any size or by personalizing a paver or table.
48 Hour Challenge
September 15-17 Camp Kanata held its 48 Hour Challenge. Gifts to support the Annual Campaign and the Dining Hall campaign were counted, and we are so thankful to our Camp family members who participated.
The Challenge may be over but it's not too late to show your support and give back here.
Calling All Alumni
There are Camp Kanata alumni across the United States, and our Camp's success today has so much to do with our rich history. Please take a moment to ensure that your contact information is up to date. Alumni always have a home and a family at Camp Kanata!
