YMCA Camp Kanata is located on 150 acres in North Carolina, just north of Raleigh, N.C.
Camp Kanata is a traditional, coed, overnight summer camp for kids ages 6 – 15. We offer traditional overnight camp activities, such as archery, hiking, swimming and creative arts, and water activities on our 15-acre lake.
On the lake, campers can canoe and kayak or go feet-first down our 75-foot double waterslide.
We believe in nurturing the potential of every child to develop into confident, competent leaders and their best selves. Our 1:5 counselor-to-camper ratio ensures a safe environment and staff who know your child personally.
Everyone who comes through our gates has unique needs. We are a better Camp when we take time to find out what those needs are, build empathy and understanding, and respond to individuals appropriately. Camp Kanata is an inclusive, welcoming camp dedicated to serving those needs in the best way possible. Because every person is unique, we address each request individually. Your child’s success at Camp is our number one priority; therefore, if you have a request or a medical need, please contact us so we can work together to empower your child to reach their full potential with dignity.
Camp Kanata campers hail from North and South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and beyond.
Camp Kanata offers traditional overnight camp in one-week sessions, a traditional summer day camp in one-week sessions, and several overnight weekend camps throughout the fall and spring. We are an affordable, flexible camp and financial assistance is available thanks to our Annual Campaign.
Camp Kanata is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). ACA accreditation is voluntary and verifies that a camp has complied with up to 263 standards for health, safety, and program quality. Families can be assured that these camps have made a commitment to a safe and nurturing environment for their children. ACA standards are recognized by courts of law and government regulators as the standards of the camp community.
