Meg was born and raised in Pittsboro, NC, and now lives in Washington, D.C., working as a Sales Executive at Salesforce.
Her journey with Camp Kanata started in 2008 as a homesick first-time camper in Cabin 6. I She still remembers sitting on the picnic table outside, comforted by her incredible counselor who helped her feel safe and seen. By the end of that week, she was already begging her parents to let her stay for two weeks the next summer—and she never looked back.
Camp quickly became her second home. She returned summer after summer, growing from camper to CILT, CIT, Junior Counselor, then Counselor in the Butterfly Unit. She later stepped into leadership roles as a Unit Leader and eventually served as the Trainee Director for the CILT and CIT programs.
What she love most about Kanata is how it shapes you from the inside out. It’s a place that teaches you how to lead with empathy, connect across differences, and show up as your most authentic self. The impact camp had on her—personally and professionally—is something she carries with her every day.
