Katherine Reynolds

Director of Administrative Services

How long have you worked at Camp? Were you a camper and/or counselor before?
I have been at Camp Kanata for more than 10 years, but I have had some sort of summer camp experience as a camper or counselor since I was six years old, all over the world.

Favorite Camp memory?
My favorite Camp memory is the incredible anticipation I would feel the night before Camp starts. I could never sleep from excitement.

Where were you born?
In the Appalachian Mountains in a small town called Richlands, Virginia.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
I have always wanted to do something working with youth but the specific job has changed from teaching to a youth social worker to school travel abroad coordinator. Fortunately in my career, I have almost always had a job that had to do with summer camp.

What’s the most important thing you’ve learned in life?
You can choose your attitude in any situation, and a positive attitude will not only affect yourself but also those around you in wonderful ways.

What’s your favorite thing to do at Camp and why?
Walking the trails at Camp Kanata with my family and Penny, our Camp dog, is my happy place!!
