With the Holiday Season in full swing and Christmas just around the corner, I find myself reflecting back to Christmas Week 2015 at Camp Kanata. Every week of the summer has a theme, but for that week, it was Christmas in July for all of camp.
I think back to evening programs like the Holly Ball, where counselors dressed up, created personalities chosen by the campers and competed in a pageant. I Remember the campfire on Thursday night, where campers joined hands and sang "Silent Night" and after reading Polar Express to all of camp, Santa visited the cabins on "Christmas Eve" where he gave each cabin a gift. I think of all of the fun on "Christmas Day," which started with breakfast in bed and ended with a special closing campfire.
Regardless of what week you attended Camp Kanata, take time this season to remember the fun you had, the memories you made and the friendships you shared. Be thankful for the magic of camp and let it shine through you each and every day during this special time of year.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from all of us at Camp Kanata!
