Summer is here! We are just a few days away from week one of camp and, as your new Camp Director, I couldn’t be more excited. Camp is a special place that allows campers to be themselves, build self-esteem and create memories that will last a lifetime.
I might be new to Camp Kanata, but I have many wonderful camp memories.
As assistant camp director at Camp Cheerio for more than seven years, I have seen the impact that camp has on kids of all ages and walks of life. I will never forget the time a parent made a special visit to tell me about her daughter’s first experience at camp. She wanted to be sure I knew that her daughter’s counselor had impacted her life in a positive and profound way that she will always remember.
I am always so inspired by the way that camp builds character in our youth in a fun, easy-going way.
As Camp Kanata enters its 60th summer, I look forward to the many smiles, traditions, cheers and laughter. Here’s to a wonderful summer packed with too many memories to count!
